16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women

Tomorrow, 25th November, marks the official beginning of the 16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women. This incorporates events across the country that serve to highlight the difficulties faced by women - not just domestic abuse, but all gender-based violence.

The 16 Days campaign stems from November 25th being marked as a day of protest against violence towards women since 1981. Since then, the occasion has expanded into a 16-day stretch starting on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ending on December 10th, Human Rights Day.

If you would like to find out more, the womensgrid website has a list of events that are taking place across the country here and you can also find more ways to get involved on the UN Women website here.

Please, if you can get involved in some way, join the world in speaking out against violence against women - and don't forget, if you do attend any of these events or otherwise join in, let TG Headquarters know about it!
