TG supports WASPI - Women Against State Pension Inequality

WASPI is a single issue organisation which is campaigning for compensation for women who have been unfairly treated by changes in the state pension age and the way they have been implemented. They are not, however, opposed to the principle of pension equalisation itself.

The summary attached here, produced by WASPI, explains the issues. WASPI has already successfully campaigned for Government recognition of the problem and an All Party Group has been set up including members of all political parties.

The trustees believe that this is a matter of social equity rather than party politics so are happy to respond to a request for support from WASPI by asking members to get involved. WASPI local co-ordinators are willing to visit Guilds in their areas to talk about the issue and the help needed.
Contact details can be found by clicking here.

WASPI has an excellent website with details of the latest news and planned actions www.waspi.co.uk, and we hope many of you will get involved with their work, even if only by spreading the word that state pension ages have changed - and please do ensure that you spread the word, as it is important that women know exactly when they will receive their state pension.
