June TG Meeting 2018
A very interesting talk by our two speakers Hazel Wilson and Jennifer Lynwood who described how they had been adopted separately and brought up as sisters by an unmarried lady in the 1940s. Those were different times and this was a very unusual situation, but the girls were always loved and lived a rather privileged life, well able to deal with any awkward situations having known all along that they had been adopted. We heard all about their childhood and their eventual work and marriages and children and, in Hazel's case, the true story of why she had been put up for adoption and discovering her biological relatives. Although their adoptive mother died 36 years ago they have remained very close even though they are very different personalities, and still consider themselves to be sisters and lucky to have been adopted and given a wonderful upbringing by an exceptional woman. You can see their picture in our gallery.
