I was delighted to see a write up of the TG Memorial Service at Alrewas in a recent issue of the Wolverhampton Express and Star together with a picture of HRH Princess Anne.

I'd like to see a report and photos of the TG memorial and the dedication service at the National Memorial Arboretum on this website please.

With reference to the Memorial Unveiling at Alrewas, I didn't see any mention of it on the MIdlands News either. If a member of the Royal Family is present at anything at the National Memoraial Areboretum at Alrewas, it is usually memtioned on the news.I'm curious why the TG didn't appear.

I've been searching for a record on line of the unveiling of the TG Memorial at Alrewas last Thursday but I am disappointed that there aren't any. Have you plans to publish photos, please?

The dedication service at the NMA toaday was a wonderful event.Everything was well-organised; the sun shone, Margaret Key spoke so well about the decision to have a TG memorial and the process then followed, and the memorial itself is excellent - simple and striking. It was lovely to meet members from around the country, too. Thank you.

Hi Elaine, please see reply from Penny Ryan: I'm very pleased to hear that you've been busy with your needles, we did not want to complicate things too much, so did not add charts for the letters. The easiest way to work out the letters is to make a chart on some squared paper to knit or swiss darn in a contrasting colour. TG is not obligatory on your bunting as we will be asking you to attach a label.

I have just made the knitted bunting as advertised in the Spring Magazine. It's simple and looks effective but I had to cross stitch on T's and G's as the instructions to knit them in were not included in the pattern! Would have been useful!

Weston Village TG History Group is publishing a book entitled "Wartime Memories", containing about 30 accounts of the wartime experiences of some of our members. None of these accounts has been published previously. Initially the book is on sale only to Guild members and their friends. We are having a "launch" on Wednesday June 3rd at Fairfield House, the former home of Haile Selassie in Bath. We should be interested to hear from any other guilds who may have done something similar. Christine Sivyour

Weston Village TG History Group had a very successful launch day for our book, with over 70 members, friends and guests attending. We sold every copy of the book we had printed, and shall be ordering more copies. We even managed to get a picture and report in the Bath Chronicle, quite an achievement as they do not usually print news from guilds. Although it involved a lot of hard work to produce the book and arrange the "launch", it included many members of the Guild who are not always able to be as active these days (we are fortunate to have a membership of over 90)and everyone feels it has been a very happy and fulfilling event.

I was very interested to read about your groups book on wartime memories .All the comments in the media about the W. I. wartime efforts set me wondering what our members were doing at that time .I think I will ask our own members for their memories.Good luck with the book launch its good that those memories will be preserved for futur generations

It was nice to meet so many other members from other guild,s and to talk about what they did. A very good afternoon out and looking forward to many more. Thank you.

Hi Josephine, there is no specific sizing for the shawls or cardigans, however the cardigans should have buttons. They should be sent for the attention of Laurence Parkes at TGHQ as we are not collecting them at the AGM. Kind regards, Jo.

Please could you give me information about the shawls and baby cardigans for the Addis Ababa Fistula hospital as mentioned in the magazine. Do the shawls need to be a certain size? How do we get them there.? Do the members going to the AGM in Glasgow take them? Thank you.

The new web site looks great but I too am having difficulty accessing sections in member services. I'm trying to open 'Guild Forms and Services' but when I click on this heading it takes me back to the Home page. Then when I try to access Members Area again it asks me to log in although I am already logged in and addressed by name. Have just logged in several times but still no success. Help please

Where can I find Application Forms to join TG
Diana Hetherington

I hope someone from HQ has replied to you Cynthia. I am not sure if there are actually Application Forms to join TG. In our Guild, we have made our own simple form for name, address, phone and email for people to fill in when they ask to join. Most come as a visitor a couple of times to try us out!
